Media24 has revealed the judges’ most favoured designs submitted for Design24, a design competition seeking concept ideas to reimagine and rejuvenate the Naspers Centre on Cape Town’s Foreshore.
While these submissions were not awarded any prizes, the judges felt that they were notable for their unique innovation, their creativity, or use of technology to bring an old building to life.
The curators’ panel that will select the winner of Design24 has been selected from within the design, architecture and construction communities.
More than 90 submissions were received for the Design24 competition to reimagine the face of the Naspers Centre.
Esmaré Weideman, CEO of Media24, feels it is fitting to use this year of design to change the face of the Naspers building – an iconic part of the city we love.
One of the earliest elevation plans of the Naspers Centre that was recently found dates back to around 1972.
Everyone in South Africa is invited to reimagine the face of the Naspers Centre.
